Twitter on Friday announced major changes in the way social networks have been formed for the most controversial, uncertain and high-stakes election in modern American history.

The notable change is that Twitter is trying a new strategy to discourage people from retweeting posts without adding their own comments. In the “Global” change from October 20, the platform will ask anyone to retweet anything to share some tweets. The change will continue through the “end of election week” as Twitter decides whether the change should last longer.

However, it not only adds some additional conflict for those of us who want to encourage everyone to consider not only why they are promoting the tweet, but also increases the likelihood that people will add their views, opinions and attitudes to the conversation, Twitter said about the change, which some users can see on the web for the web from Friday.
