Arab leaders – except Syrian President Bashar Al Assad – will today meet in Saudi Arabia for the 29th summit, which focuses on the current crisis in the Arab world.
The meeting expected to kick-start in the Saudi city of Dammam, with leaders from the 22-member body, including Somalia – without suspended Syria are in attendance.
This is the bloc’s first since President Donald Trump’s controversial recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital that drew the ire of Arab nations.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, leading a high-level delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday ahead of 29th Arab League summit.
Farmajo will hold meetings with several Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation between Somalia and their countries.
